The Green Wall / Plantation Drive
SMJPS organised an In –House Activity in August 2020, ‘ The Green Wall – Plantation Drive’. The students of classes VI-VIII participated whole heartedly in the event.

Their guide teacher Ms. Manjusha Talwar instructed them about how to build a green wall by reusing plastic bottles. A few team leaders were appointed to tell the other students how to cut the bottles and how to prepare soil with manure.

After this process, the bottles were taken outside in the garden and filled with the soil. Then the seedlings were chosen and bottles were arranged vertically on an iron mesh with the help of colourful bands.

Responsibility of watering the plants was assigned to each class on alternate days. All the students took care of the green wall enthusiastically.

Wonderful slogans, songs and colourful, posters were used to reinforce inspiration among the students.

Best Out of Waste

As a part of ISA activity, SMJPS organised an in – house activity based on ‘Best Out of Waste’. Students of classes IV –V participated in this event.



Students displayed their potential and innovativeness by making different projects like ATM machine, Volcano, pen holder, rocket launching to Mars, garden scene, snipper, hot air balloon, jet car, living room etc. 




Using match box, ear buds, cold drink bottles, cardboard box, LED battery, ice- cream sticks, handmade sheets, paper flowers, newspapers and other decorative material.




Under the able guidance of their guide teachers- Mrs. Ritika Handa, Mrs. Archana Ahuja and Mrs. Vidhu Trikha, students exhibited ingenious skills and proved the following saying true –







“The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.”

Interhouse Dance Competition

Festivals have a lot of importance in our lives. To conserve our traditions and values we celebrate festivals and dances.

Different people of different religions , communities and countries have dances as an integral part of festivals, but they all give one message i.e. brotherhood and faith between all the humans. Festivals are the oxygen and life of society. 22nd January, 2020 SMJPS organised an Interhouse Dance Competition as a part of an ISA activity on ‘Festivals – Collective Heritage’. Students of classes V-IX enthusiastically participated in this competition.

The students of five houses presented Dance forms of five different countries.

“With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning”.
Students of SMJPS are always ready to grab an opportunity to do or learn something new. On Dec 23, 2019 an exhibition of cosmetics using organic products was put up in the school premises. Many parents visited the exhibition and bought different organic cosmetics.
It was a new learning experience for the students of class XI. They learnt the process of packaging of those products. Then they labelled them and calculated the profit and put the MRP on the different products according to their manufacturing process and profit etc. They sold their goods efficiently. This whole process made them learn different steps from packaging and labelling to according accounting and selling their goods.
Students of class XI along with guide teachers Ms. Karishma Gera and Mrs. Archana Ahuja put a lot of efforts to perform the whole task judiciously.

At SMJPS, the students and the teachers strive constantly to make any enterprise a success, be it in the field of Science, technology or an IAS activity on awareness about Environment and issues related to it, they have surpassed glory with pride and forever smiling faces.

On 17th Dec 2019, a Skype session was organised by the students of SMJPS in collaboration with Alkawthar High School, Beirut, Lebanon on Environment and various issues related to it. It was a very interactive session in which students of both the countries asked various questions on different environmental issues.
Students of classes IX and XI conducted the whole session enthusiastically and answered all the questions asked by the students of Alkawthar High School, Beirut.

Power Point Presentation
The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people. It is for all of us to understand and appreciate the diversity of various cultures, people and nations.
To sensitize the students regarding this diversity, the students of classes IX and X were encouraged top prepare a Power Point Presentation on the countries of India, Spain, Japan USA and France. Six teams comprising of three students each worked on collecting the information regarding the festivals of the above stated countries.
Working under the guidance of the computer Science Teachers Ms. Seema Vigh and Ms. Mamta Chaudhary, the student s were asked to prepare a power point presentation of 12-14 slides showcasing the various, festivals, traditions, art and culture of the countries in focus.
The wonderful presentations filled the audience comprising the students of classes IX and X. The participants came out with amazing presentations and their effort was quite visible…

Food and Festivals
George Bernard Shaw said ‘There is no love sincere then the love of Food’
Food binds people together. It is an essential feature of any festivities .To enlighten the students regarding the various kinds of dishes prepared for various festivals in India, Spain ,Japan, France and USA , an inter House competition was organised for the students of classes VI and VIII. The students of all the teams enthusiastically participated, researching, finalizing and arranging for the dishes of the counties allotted to them.


All the teams worked under the guidance and supervision of the Home Science Teacher Ms. Aaradhana Bhattacharya and the English Teacher Ms.Vandana Jain.They guided the students regarding the ingredients of the various dishes and also told them about the nutritional value of their contents.
