BRAINSTORMING SESSION ON GROWING IMPORTANCE OF ORGANIC PRODUCTS

An in-house activity on growing importance of organic products was held on 31st Aug’19 with cent percent participation of class VI students of SMJPS. The venue of this session was the lively Indira Devi Auditorium. This session was designed so that the kids learnt a lot about the importance of chemical free product in their daily life. Students were divided into four teams representing the countries of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and our own motherland India. The kids had dedicatedly collected data related to the topic with the help of internet, newspapers, journals and magazines. The aim of this session was to make the students aware about the need and importance of inculcating the habit of using chemical free products instead of using chemical based products.   In this, the team of students highlighted - leading and certified organic brands of these countries along with their implications and usages. History through Monuments- Stories etched in stone   ISA activity Curriculum 6 Sumermal Jain  Public School students of classes 6 to 8 participated wholeheartedly in making masks, hats, glass paintings, wall hangings on the topic ' heritage' in relation to the selected countries Italy, France, Brazil and Spain. The  in house activity was conducted by Mrs Shilpi Kohli of the Social Science Department. Mrs Jyotsna Upreti of the English department, Mrs Parul Sachar of the Science Department, Mrs Seema Vigh of the Computer Department and Mrs Gurmeet of the Maths department. All these teachers were instrumental in making the activity interesting, educative and a resounding success. The presence of Ms. Geeta Oberai, Headmistress who is the think tank and the ISA co-ordinators Mrs. Roopali Sinha and Mr. Amit provided an impetus to this fun activity. Curriculum activity -1 Organic ideas: Gateway to global health Making posters and write slogans (31/7/19) In accordance with the ISA action plan, an in-house activity was conducted with the students of grade VI on the pressing need of adoption of chemical free or toxic free lifestyle. The pupils from grade VI (four section) enthusiastically assembled in capacious Indira Devi auditorium of SMJPS in large number to pen down their ideas on the growing importance of organic products in the form of slogans and sketch colour filled posters. This session was aimed to help students to gain understanding of the dangers involved in using chemical based product and appreciate the benefits of imbibing more natural commodities. Initially the students were sensitized about the issue by showing a power point presentation which highlighted the dangers of using genetically modified ingredient , success rate of Sikkim which has been declared as 100% organic state and how the ki
