INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS With the ongoing pandemic situation, the virtual Independence Day celebrations in the month of August, was a unique way of expressing patriotic zeal by our students.   Many students from classes IV to XII expressed their  opinions  and feelings about India’s  freedom  struggle and how  to preserve  it through  their speeches  and poetic  expressions. Many videos and photos were posted by students pertaining to the spirit of freedom. Wearing tri coloured costumes, holding Indian flag in their hands and even smearing tri colour on their faces...the students, evidently, conveyed their strong emotions for India. Our students followed the innovative ideas given by yoga teacher Ms Rekha Naidu and exhibited yog asanas through videos and photos to reflect their spirit of freedom.            YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4          7. INTERNATIONAL  YOGA DAY  A soothing morning assembly sets a positive tone for the whole day. Good health is vital for human existence. Undoubtedly, yoga helps in retaining the energy in our life. Not only our students excel in yoga but our teachers also enthusiastically participated through online zoom session conducted by our accomplished yoga teacher to commemorate the INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY in the month of June. It was 'INTERNATIONAL' in its true sense as our teachers had incorporated yoga postures from Japan, Malaysia and Singapore in their work out. Mr Arunachalam, vice principal (senior) and Ms Sangeeta Anand, vice principal (middle) also attended the session. Above all, the whole hearted participation of Ms Sonali Jain, representing our school management, was a tremendous booster for all the staff members.

                          YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4          6. MORNING ASSEMBLY A soothing morning assembly sets a positive tone for the whole day. Honing the skills of the students, inculcating healthy competitive spirit and eventually molding their body and character‐‐ are the mission of morning assembly. During the months of January and February, each day, it was organised with serenity‐-commencing with Morning Prayer which was followed by yoga practice. All the students from classes IV to XII used to perform various asanas as per the guidance of yoga teacher, Ms Rekha Naidu. Students learnt about yoga performed in the other countries - Japan, Singapore and Malaysia apart from India to synchronize their body movements along with proper breathing techniques. This activity was collectively supervised by all staff members in the morning assembly.

                  YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4             5. INDO JAPANESE  FUSION YOGA Exploration  leads to learning something  new. This new learning, in itself, was showcased in the form of Indo  Japanese fusion yoga. During the visit of Mr Masahiro Kobayashi, the first secretary (education) embassy of Japan. The fusion yoga was gracefully  presented by our students from classes IV to X. The program was attended by our honorable chairman Shri K.L.  Jain,  treasurer Ms Sonali Jain, principal dr. Racchna Saddi and the  head mistress Ms Geeta Oberai.  The presentation was well  coordinated by Ms Rekha Naidu, Ms  Meeta,  Ms Jyoti, Ms Anjali  and  computer department   for logistic support.

                  YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4     4.  CLASSROOM   TEACHING   REPORT (DEC - JAN) Yoga helps to create a positive environment. It ensures the fusion of mind, body and soul.            Our students specially from class IV to VII, quickly learnt different yoga forms followed in other countries too. During the months of December and January. Ms Shashirekha Naidu, the yoga teacher, instructed and supervised them while students learnt and practiced yoga.

                               YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4 3. POWERPOINT  PRESENTATION  REPORT(DECEMBER) ... Yet another feather in the cap was learning through technology.. Our computer teachers Ms Mamta and Ms Seema coordinated with  yoga teacher, Ms Rekha Naidu in preparing the PowerPoint  presentation for our students. In the month of December, the PPT was shared with our students from classes IV to VIII and the countries we coordinated  with--  Japan,  Malaysia and Singapore... To learn and explore more  about  the  participating countries. It was observed that these 3 countries,  too, believe in fitness routine  and follow yoga in their countries.

  YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4   2. ANNUAL DAY( NOVEMBER)... Success is practiced; success is earned and then  shared... After rigorous practice schedule, our students gave their best performance on the ANNUAL DAY in the month of November.  Around 250 students from classes IV to XI performed yog asans with grace and poise.   The spectacular presentation was interspersed with music and the use of props like malkhambs, hooplas, balls and stools was amazingly presented. The outstanding performance also showcased fusion yoga....merging Indian yoga with the other forms of yoga practiced in Japan, Malaysia and Singapore The beautiful presentation was the result of the tremendous collective efforts of all the students and the teacher incharges Ms Rekha Naidu, Ms Meeta, Ms Shweta, Ms Gurmeet Kaur and other staff members too.

  YOGA: THE POWER OF HEALING ISA ACTIVITY NO. 4 1. PRE ANNUAL DAY PRACTICE ( OCTOBER)... Sumermal Jain Public School believes in the holistic development of the students. The   ultimate objective   focuses on the amalgamation of   mind, body, and soul that helps in realizing the aim of life.   Our students exhibit yoga, in its various   manifestations,   every   year on the annual   day.   Almost 2 to 3 months of rigorous   practice with approximately 250 to 300 students from classes IV to XI, was done for perfection   and grace. The enthusiastic students practiced with various props under the guidance of our yoga teacher Ms Shashi Rekha Naidu, Ms meeta bhattacharya, Ms Shweta and Ms Gurmeet Kaur.

  HISTORY THROUGH MONUMENTS – STORIES ETCHED IN STONES ISA ACTVITY NO. 6 POWER POINT PRESENTATION ON HISTORICAL  MONUMENTS OF DELHI   The students of class IX – X under the guidance of Mrs. Indrani Rawat, HOD Social Science department prepared a power point  presentation on the Historical Monuments of Delhi. The students  were very enthusiastic to have a skype session with the partner  school in the month of January but due to widespread citizenship amendment bill protest in Delhi that had turned violent and the Covid-19 pandemic the students could not hold skype session  with  the partner school.             This did not deter the spirit of our students and they prepared a power point presentation on the historical monument of Delhi and provided detailed information about some of the prominent historical monuments of Delhi.   HISTORY THROUGH MONUMENTS – STORIES ETCHED IN STONES   ISA ACTVITY NO. 6 POSTER MAKING ACTIVITY A poster making activity was conducted on October 3,2019 for class X and XI on the topic ‘History through Monuments: Stories etched in stones’. Approximately 70 students took part in the activity.  It was an in-house activity conducted by Mrs. Neetu Goel (Social Science department), Mrs. Parul Sachar (Science department) and Mrs. Preeti Ahluwalia of the Art department. The students showed immense zeal and enthusiasm and made vibrant and beautiful posters, which gave message of conserving the monuments. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds creating and displaying their ideas on paper.  The students enjoyed taking part in these activities.   The ISA coordinator Mr. Amit Kushwaha appreciated the effort put up by the teachers and the students.

  ORGANIC IDEAS – GATEWAY TO GLOBAL HEALTH     ISA ACTIVITY NO. – 1 EXHIBITION OF HERBAL PRODUCTS   INDIGENOUSLY  MANUFACTURED IN  SCHOOL   In accordance with the ISA action plan, an in-house activity was conducted by the students of grade IX-XII on 24 th Dec, 2019. Once  the students completed the manufacturing of Organic products in the school chemistry laboratory, these were then packaged using handmade sheets and properly labelled. Thereafter, an Exhibition of these products was put up in the school where the student's showcased exemplary teamwork skills.  The whole idea behind this activity was to integrate their learning of manufacturing natural products with the art of oral expression.   ORGANIC IDEAS – GATEWAY TO GLOBAL HEALTH     ISA ACTIVITY NO. – 1   SCHOOL ASSEMBLY To save our environment as well as the health of people across the  globe, students of classes VI toVIII of Sumermal Jain Public school  conducted a special assembly on 10th October 2019. The special purpose of the assembly was to inform and educate their fellow students, and teachers regarding the devastating impact of using chemical based products on the environment. 800 students in all  attended that assembly .         The students had undertaken various projects earlier where they had planted certain herbs and created a Herb Garden. They  used the herbs from their garden and made certain Organic Products in the school laboratory.   Festivals-Collective Heritage ISA ACTVITY NO. 3 Special Assembly and Quiz A Special Assembly was organised for the students of class III to familiarise them with the culture and customs of the focus countries, Japan, Spain, USA, India and France.             The students were asked to collect information regarding the above stated countries from various sources, select the information they needed about the culture, costume, festivals, dances and customs of these countries. Then they presented this information very confidently with the help of props and charts in the special assembly.      The audience was completely absorbed in the wonderful presentations.
