Food binds people together. It is an essential feature of any
festivities .To
enlighten the students regarding the various kinds of dishes prepared for various
festivals in India, Spain ,Japan, France and USA , an inter House competition
was organised for the students of classes VI and VIII. The students
of all the teams enthusiastically participated, researching, finalizing and
arranging for the dishes of the counties allotted to them.
All the teams worked under the guidance and supervision of
the Home Science Teacher Ms. Aaradhana Bhattacharya and the English Teacher Ms.Vandana
Jain.They guided the students regarding the ingredients of the various dishes
and also told them about the nutritional value of their contents.
The
students working on the dishes of Spain prepared summer Spanish Salad and
Mojito. The Team working on the dishes of Japan made Puffed Rice treats and
Iced Tea.
LA SALADE NICOSE and Cranberry Juice from France were
presented by one of the teams’. One of the teams working on the dishes of USA
made Corn Salad Tacos and Milk shake.
Bhelpuri, Jaljeera and Coconut ladoos, the Indian delicacies
were prepared by the students representing the food from India.
The principal Dr. Racchna Saddi applauded the students for
their great efforts Ms. Roopali Sinha and Mr. Amit Kumar Kushwaha; the ISA
coordinators along with Ms. Parul Sachar, The Science Teacher were also present
to motivate the children. MS. Shaloo Nanda, the coordinator of the project was
also present for the event.
The judges comprising of the Principal, Ms. Aaradhna
Bhattacharya and Ms. Roopali Sinha adjudged the team representing Japan as the
best one.
It was a very enriching experience for everyone who was a part
of this activity. Food is an essential element of any festivities in any
century across the world. Special dishes are prepared on special occasions and
all of them have a story associated with them.
