ISA ACTVITY NO. 3


Interhouse Dance Competition


Festivals have a lot of importance in our lives. To conserve our traditions and values we celebrate festivals and dances.





Different people of different religions , communities and countries have dances as an integral part of festivals, but they all give one message i.e. brotherhood and faith between all the humans. Festivals are the oxygen and life of society. 22nd January, 2020 SMJPS organised an Interhouse Dance Competition as a part of an ISA activity on ‘Festivals – Collective Heritage’. Students of classes V-IX enthusiastically participated in this competition.



                 

The students of five houses presented Dance forms of five different countries.

  • Indira Devi House – Folk dance of Spain
  • Acharya Tulsi House – Folk dance of France
  • Nehru House – Folk dance of India
  • Subhash House – Folk dance of America
  • Shivaji House – Folk dance of Japan
                          


Their performances were judged on the following criteria
ü Their expressions
ü Costume and make up
ü Synchronization
ü Usage of the stage
ü Presentation

The dance competition was adjudged by the three judges:
ü Mrs. Piyali Dutt
ü Mrs. Shailja Sood
ü Mrs. Shaloo Nanda


Acharya Tulsi House was declared the winner of the Interhouse Dance Competition by all the three judges collectively. Nehru house bagged II position; Indira Devi House bagged III position.


               



All the students exhibited amazing dancing skill and presented their dance forms with great aplomb any gaiety.


Their efforts were applauded by ISA coordinators Mr. Amit Kushwaha and Head Mistress Mrs. Geeta Oberoi, the guiding force behind the whole event.

History through Monuments- Stories etched in stone   ISA activity Curriculum 6 Sumermal Jain  Public School students of classes 6 to 8 participated wholeheartedly in making masks, hats, glass paintings, wall hangings on the topic ' heritage' in relation to the selected countries Italy, France, Brazil and Spain. BRAINSTORMING SESSION ON GROWING IMPORTANCE OF ORGANIC PRODUCTS

An in-house activity on growing importance of organic products was held on 31st Aug’19 with cent percent participation of class VI students of SMJPS. The venue of this session was the lively Indira Devi Auditorium. This session was designed so that the kids learnt a lot about the importance of chemical free product in their daily life. Students were divided into four teams representing the countries of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and our own motherland India. The kids had dedicatedly collected data related to the topic with the help of internet, newspapers, journals and magazines. The aim of this session was to make the students aware about the need and importance of inculcating the habit of using chemical free products instead of using chemical based products.   In this, the team of students highlighted - leading and certified organic brands of these countries along with their implications and usages. The Green Wall / Plantation Drive

MY PROMISE TO ENVIRONMENT GOING GREEN & CLEAN The Green Wall / Plantation Drive SMJPS organised an In –House Activity in August 2020, ‘ The Green Wall – Plantation Drive’. The students of classes VI-VIII participated whole heartedly in the event. Their guide teacher Ms. Manjusha Talwar instructed them about how to build a green wall by reusing plastic bottles. A few team leaders were appointed to tell the other students how to cut the bottles and how to prepare soil with manure. After this process, the bottles were taken outside in the garden and filled with the soil. Then the seedlings were chosen and bottles were arranged vertically on an iron mesh with the help of colourful bands. Responsibility of watering the plants was assigned to each class on alternate days. All the students took care of the green wall enthusiastically.
